Well, yesterday I did some more garden shooting because the light was good and the bugs were out and about. I’m really trying to improve my macro technique, as you may have noticed. The trouble is, because the light was alright but still quite dim, shutterspeeds were relatively slow and I have extremely shaky hands, resulting in only a small number of “keepers” from the shoot. I think right now it’s all about practice practice practice, so as soon as my exams are over I’m going to start shooting in earnest again, and also going to send off for my 70-200mm f/2.8 VR! I’m really excited about that. Definitely a piece of glass worth getting. Anyways, here’s a few shots from yesterday:
Lovely. I can’t tell you how much I love shooting ladybirds. They’re great. Really vibrant and beautiful. I had meant to shoot some today too, but there weren’t any on the usual bush, and the light was awful, giving me shutter speeds of around 1/30s, which, even with VR, at close distance means very very few sharp pictures.
Oh, and I also want to know something from you, the reader! That is, how do you feel about the current picture upload size? I mean, I’m never going to do them at full resolution, but yeah, see the possible answers in the poll at the end of this post, and please vote! Your opinion, as a reader, is greatly appreciated.
OH! and I forgot to add the final picture. You know the little wasp in the second picture? Yeah a few minutes later, I snapped this shot:
